The FIGnition is an open source, 21st Century, 8 Bit Computer inspired by the early DIY home computer kits available to electronics hobbyists in the 1970s and 80s. It is described as being simple enough for even a beginner to solder together - a claim that I decided to test out, despite the fact that my last attempt at soldering, at school in 1996 ended up looking like a PCB Pompeii!
